U21 REPORT | Charlton 6 Swansea City 0

'

Charlton’s U21s produced an excellent display at Sparrows Lane on Tuesday afternoon, as they ran out 6-0 victors against Swansea City in the PDL.

Swansea came close to opening the scoring on nine minutes, as Joshua Pescatore’s effort fizzed across goal.

Charlton’s first goal came on 16 minutes, after Phoenix Valentine won the Addicks a penalty. Valentine made a darting run into the box and was fouled by the Swansea defender. Ethan Brown stepped up and converted the spot kick, to put the Addicks a goal to good.

Kaheim Dixon doubled the scoring five minutes later with an excellent solo effort. He ran in-behind the Swansea defence and found himself one on one with Joseph Collins in goal, before calmly slotting the ball home to make it 2-0 to Charlton.

Moments later, the trialist got himself on the scoresheet, to round up an excellent first-half performance from Chris Lock’s side.

Kaheim Dixon produced another stellar goal in the second half to make it 4-0, with a superb strike from outside the area that curled in off the post.

Shia-Lee Burnham replaced Paris Lock on 75 minutes and had an instant impact, as he netted soon after coming on to make it 5-0 to the Addicks.

Kaheim Dixon rounded off the afternoon with a hat-trick, as he scored from close range in stoppage time, to round off an excellent afternoon for the young Addicks.

Chris Lock’s side are next in action on Friday, February 27th as they host Millwall at Sparrows Lane (KO 1.30pm GMT).
