Nugent nominated for Manager of the Month award

Olly Groome reports

Kevin Nugent has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month for November, following his stint in caretaker charge.

The Assistant Manager took the first-team reins for three matches following the departure of Russell Slade on November 14th and remained unbeaten, picking up two victories and a draw.

His first match saw the Addicks earn a 2-0 win over Port Vale at The Valley on November 19th, followed by the impressive 5-1 thrashing of Bristol Rovers three days later.

Nugent's final game as Caretaker Manager ended in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United in SE7 on November 26th, rounding off a haul of seven points from a possible nine, before Karl Robinson took control last week.

He goes up against Scunthorpe United boss Graham Alexander, Phil Brown of Southend United and Gillingham's Justin Edinburgh, with the winner being announced on Friday morning.

Meanwhile, the victory at Bristol Rovers earned Charlton the LMA Performance of the Week award, with Nugent collecting the award at Sparrows Lane last week (pictured below)
