TEAM NEWS | Double debut for Millwall derby

George Jones reports from The Valley

Nathan Byrne and Lewis Page will make their Charlton debuts in today’s south-east London derby against Millwall at The Valley.

The duo come into the side as Manager Karl Robinson makes three changes to the XI that began our last match – a 4-1 victory against Bristol Rovers in SE7 on January 2nd.

Declan Rudd returns in goal, having recovered from a hip injury, and he will be protected by a back four that consists of captain Chris Solly, Jorge Teixeira, Patrick Bauer and debutant Page.

Academy graduate Ezri Konsa and the experienced Andrew Crofts will anchor the midfield – as they did against Rovers – and Joe Aribo will operate in front of them. The 20-year-old has grabbed four assist in his last two games.

Byrne will be deployed out wide, with Adam Chicksen occupying the opposition flank and up front Josh Magennis will be looking to add to the hat-trick that he netted last time out.

On the bench, Tony Watt is available after returning from a loan spell at Hearts, and new signings Jake Forster-Caskey and Jay Dasilva are also options for Charlton. They are joined by Dillon Phillips, Roger Johnson, Fredrik Ulvestad and Ricky Holmes, fit again after a broken foot.
