Charlton women sign Georgia Griffin

The Charlton Athletic women’s side have made their second signing of the season with Georgia Griffin joining from Southend United.

The 17-year old striker netted 79 goals in two seasons for The Shrimpers’ youth set up, and spoke positively about the step up she’s aiming to achieve whilst at Charlton Athletic.

“I did my research and the facilities and the coaching staff all look really good” said Georgia. “I thought it was time to step up, improve my game so I thought let’s go”

The 17-year old striker who started her career with the Essex side Tigers took part in a trial match, where she stood out and impressed first team coach Riteesh Mishra who will be looking forward to utilising her playing ability.

“I think she’s someone who’s got a long future in the game and I’ve already seen in two [training] sessions that she’s got a brilliant future here” said Riteesh

Georgia’s first interview is available to watch here on Valley Pass, as well as Riteesh Mishra’s first interview as the girls go back into pre-season training.
