Nottingham Forest loanee Jamie Ward gets Northern Ireland call

On-loan winger Jamie Ward has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming games against Austria and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Having previously made 34 appearances for his country, it is no surprise that Ward has received another call-up. He has scored four goals for his country, including a memorable one against Portugal in 2013.

Ward was previously part of the Northern Ireland side that competed at Euro 2016.

After gaining promotion to the Premier League with Cardiff City last season, Ward joined the Addicks on loan until January and has been on the winning side in the two matches that he has featured in this season.

Northern Ireland will be playing in Vienna and Grbavica as part of the UEFA Nations League competition. The games will be held on Friday, October 12th and Monday, October15th.

Ward will report back after the international break and will hope to be in the Charlton side when we face Barnsley at The Valley on Saturday, October 20th.

Tickets for Saturday's game against Coventry City remain on sale and can be purchased online by clicking here.
