With just a few days until Charlton Women take on Millwall Lionesses at The Valley, we spoke to Harley Bennett to find out how the team were getting on.
“The mood in the camp is really positive, recently we have had some breaks between our fixtures which has given us time in training to dial things down. We are coming off the back of two losses so we are eager to put that right.”
Although earlier in the season Charlton convincingly beat Millwall 8-0 away at Dartford, the Addicks midfielder thinks Wednesday’s fixture is not a certain three points. “I think they are going to come and give us a better game, they have been doing really well recently. They have been on a good run so it should be exciting.”
The match against the Lionesses will be the first time playing at The Valley for Harley. “Obviously, it is a massive privilege, its great the men are getting behind us and supporting us and we are extremely thankful for that.”
Bennett added, “For me personally I have never played there so I am really excited and of course it is a London rivalry.”
Support continues to grow for the side who are currently fourth in the FA Women’s Championship. Harley said “I think it is a really exciting time, we are nearly at the end of the season so every game is clinical.”
The midfielder added: "Millwall and Charlton have a lot of history so it should be exciting and we need all the support we can get."
