Attending Saturday’s game against Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley? Here are seven things to keep an eye out for in SE7 on New Year’s Day…
Visit the Upbeats Kitchen
The much-loved Charlton Upbeats will once again be serving homemade soup to supporters along with healthy soft drinks. Supporters can find the Upbeats’ brand-new kiosk in the Covered End lower concourse.
Visit the free Fans’ Bar
The Fans’ Bar will be opening its doors to supporters from 12pm and will be screening Arsenal v Manchester City (12.30pm) and Crystal Palace v West Ham United (5.30pm), as well as the CharltonTV pre-game show from 2.15pm and the CharltonTV post-game show.
Additionally, Street Food’s Indian curry station will be serving chicken tikka masala, vegetable jalfrezi, naan bread, chutneys, dips and chips from the Fans’ Bar, with the guest ale for Saturday’s fixture being Deuchars IPA.
Supporters who sit in the Covered End upper can beat the queues by pre-ordering their half-time drinks from the bar before collecting them from a separate station during the interval.
Meet Floyd and Harvey
Supporters can meet the club’s mascots Floyd and Harvey in Valley Central (located opposite Valley Superstore) from 1.40pm. The popular pair can then be found by the large Charlton badge outside the Covered End at 2.10pm, before heading pitchside at 2.45pm ready for kick-off.
There will be plenty of opportunities for fans to get photos with the duo, and supporters will be in with a chance of winning Charlton prizes if they post their photo on social media using #cafc.
Get your Charlton wear in Valley Superstore
The club shop will be open from 10am until kick-off, giving supporters the opportunity to purchase all of the latest Charlton merchandise - including the inaugural Addicks annual and the official Charlton 2022 calendar.
Valley Superstore will then open for an additional 30 minutes after the full-time whistle.
Enjoy an array of catering options
Further external concessions will see fish and chips served in the West stand car park, while fans can find Wicked Burgers and Colombian arepas outside the Alan Curbishley Stand. Mulled wine will be available from Bartram’s.
Remember the Addicks we lost in 2021
The club's annual memorial will take place ahead of kick-off on Saturday. There will be a period of applause prior to kick-off while a list of names of supporters, former players, staff and loved ones connected to the club who we have lost over the last 12 months scrolls up the screen.
Those names will also appear within the pages of Valley Review, the club's official matchday programme.
Lee at half-time
Former Addicks midfielder Robert Lee, who is starring alongside Steve Brown and host Scott Minto in the CharltonTV studio, presented by DNEL Ltd, will be going pitchside at half-time for an interview with CharltonTV’s Charlotte Richardson.
