After announcing his retirement in the summer of 2025, Danny Hylton signed a contract to continue as part of Nathan Jones' backroom staff.
The vastly-experienced striker, who has tasted three EFL promotions, initially joined Charlton on a short-term deal in September 2024 before extending his contract as a Player-Coach in February 2025. Following James Brayne's departure in August 2025, Hylton was promoted to Set Piece and First-Team Coach.
Hylton started his career at Aldershot Town before enjoying permanent spells at Rotherham United and Oxford United, where he earned promotion from Sky Bet League Two.
After signing for Luton, he scored 58 goals during his first three campaigns under Jones’ guidance as the club earned back-to-back promotions.
Having helped the Hatters establish themselves back in the Championship, Hylton ended his outstanding six-year spell with the club in June 2022 to join Northampton Town, where he spent two seasons.
