Midfielder Emma Bissell gave Charlton supporters an exciting glimpse of what’s to come during his first half-season at the club.
Arriving at The Valley from Everton in January and signing an 18-month deal, injury limited Bissell to five appearances in a Charlton shirt before the end of the campaign, but she made a positive impression when available.
The 23-year-old, who boasts a wealth of Women’s Super League experience, scored her first goal for the Addicks in the 5-0 win over Portsmouth in February.
A graduate of Manchester City’s academy, Bissell made her debut for the Blues at the age of 16, coming off the bench in a Women’s League Cup game against Aston Villa in December 2018.
Regular first team football came when she moved to Bristol City ahead of the 2020/21 season, scoring once in 17 WSL games, before spending time playing for Florida State Seminoles in the US College system.
Returning to English football ahead of the 2023/24 season, the former England U19 international joined Everton and scored three times in 42 appearances for the Toffees.
Having made her return from injury at the end of last season with a brief cameo from the bench during the final day win over Southampton, a fully fit Bissell will be key as the Addicks aim to challenge at the top of WSL2.
