Onel Hernández joined in September 2025, putting pen to paper on a short-term deal with the club.

The experienced wideman arrives at The Valley following a successful seven-year spell at Norwich City, where he made over 200 appearances across all competitions and starred in two Sky Bet Championship promotion-winning campaigns.

Born in Morón, Cuba, Hernández moved to Germany aged six and began his professional career at Arminia Bielefeld, before enjoying spells at Werder Bremen II and Wolfsburg II.

Following two seasons with Eintracht Braunschweig, he joined Norwich in January 2018 and quickly became a fan favourite at Carrow Road.

Hernández, who has also enjoyed loan spells at Middlesbrough and Birmingham City, earned his first cap for Cuba in March 2021 against Guatemala and scored his inaugural international goal against Curaçao on his second appearance.
