Charlton Athletic and Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) rounded off Football v Homophobia’s Month of Action on Saturday as the club hosted its annual FvH matchday at The Valley during the men’s first-team's fixture against Wrexham.
February marked Football v Homophobia’s Month of Action and saw clubs, teams, fan groups, leagues and organisations share the ‘Football For Everyone’ message and reaffirm their commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces in which LGBTQ+ people can thrive.
Saturday’s game marked the ninth consecutive season the club has hosted a Football v Homophobia matchday, continuing a proud tradition of promoting equality and tackling discrimination in football.
On the day, Charlton Invicta - CACT and Charlton’s LGBTQ+ friendly affiliated team - and Proud Valiants, the club’s LGBTQ+ supporters’ group, were welcomed pitchside by Vice-Chairman Paul Elliott CBE MBE before watching the game from the stands, while Football v Homophobia branding featured on both the Valley Review and The Valley big screen. Quavors Choir were also welcomed pitchside and gave a live performance.
