Charlton's U21s were forced to shared the spoils with Sheffield United following late drama at Sparrows Lane on Tuesday afternoon.
Patrick Casey gave the young Addicks the lead, but a late leveller saw the Blades snatch a point.
Charlton found themselves ahead inside 20 minutes as Casey was threaded through one-on-one with the keeper. The forward made no mistake from close range, slotting home with a well-placed strike.
At the other end, Tommy Reid was called into action for the young Addicks with a vital save to deny Jevan Beattie from close range.
However, heartbreak struck in the sixth minute of stoppage time for Lock's side as a corner was swung in toward the back post, allowing Billy Blacker to convert via a deflection.
Next up for the U21s is a trip to Highbury Stadium to face Fleetwood Town on Tuesday afternoon (KO 1pm BST).
