Charlton’s U21s tasted derby-day delight on Tuesday afternoon with a 4-2 win over Millwall.
Chris Lock’s side retained their spot at the top of the Professional Development League 2 South and are now eight games unbeaten in all competitions.
The Addicks went behind in the first half through a Millwall penalty which was converted by Ajay Matthews. Ibrahim Fullah then netted twice to give the young Addicks the lead on the stroke of half time.
Charlton couldn’t take that advantage into the break, as Harry Taylor drew the home side level deep into first-half stoppage time.
The second half remained level until the latter stages of the game, as a flurry of late goals helped seal all three points for the young Addicks.
Captain Keenan Gough powered Charlton into the lead on 83 minutes, rising highest to meet a Kai Enslin cross.
Reuben Reid also got himself on the scoresheet in added time, with a lovely left-footed shot into the bottom corner to help the Addicks to a 4-2 victory on the road.
The table-topping Addicks are next in action on Friday, October 31st, as they take on QPR live on CharltonTV.
