Charlton’s U21s had to share the spoils at Florence Park after a 2-2 draw with Colchester United.

Henry Rylah and Emmanuel Sol-Loza were on the scoresheet for the young Addicks as they twice fought back from a goal behind.

The opening 30 minutes were evenly balanced until the home side broke the deadlock and Charlton fell a goal behind.

The young Addicks drew level before the break from the penalty spot after Sol-Loza was fouled in the box. Rylah stepped up and made no mistake to make it 1-1.

Colchester regained the lead in added time of the first half. Following a goalmouth scramble, the ball found its way into the back of the net and Chris Lock’s side were behind at the break.

Sol-Loza levelled for the young Addicks in the 79th minute with a lovely turn and finish.

Charlton enjoyed a flurry of late chances in the closing stages of the game as they looked to find a winner, but had to settle for a point on the road.

Up next for the U21s is a trip to Leicester City, as the two teams meet in the Premier League Cup on Friday, October 17th (KO 7pm BST).
