A youthful Addicks side shared the spoils with Barnsley U21s at The Valley on Tuesday afternoon in a 1-1 encounter, stretching Chris Lock’s side’s unbeaten streak to three.
Reuben Reid was on the scoresheet for the Addicks as the talented youngster was named amongst the first-team squad on the same evening, where Nathan Jones’ side locked horns with Cambridge United.
We opened our account inside 16 minutes as Paris Lock threaded an inch-perfect pass in behind for Reid to run onto. The forward made no mistake, converting from close range with a well-taken finish.
The visitors responded late on, grabbing an equaliser in the 74th minute through Chrysolite Ogbu, drawing level in SE7.
Up next for the U21s is a trip to Bramall Lane as we lock horns with Sheffield United on Friday evening (KO 7pm BST).
