Tyreece Campbell proved the match-winner as the Addicks beat Stoke City at The Valley on Wednesday evening.
Nine minutes from full-time, the 22-year-old latched onto Lyndon Dykes’ flick-on, rounded Stoke goalkeeper Tommy Simkin and calmly finished with his left foot.
Speaking just after doing the club’s iconic tunnel jump, Campbell said: “I saw the ball was going to go in behind, I ran in behind. My first touch was a bit heavy but I was able to catch up and stay composed which was good.
“It’s a good feeling, we needed a win today, so we’re happy to get the win. It’s the best.”
