After an amazing breakthrough 2025/26 season, Gillian Kenney has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 Rising Star Award.
The nominees are players who have 'shown exceptional talent and potential in their first season or early years of the professional game, making a significant impact on the field'.
In her first year in professional football, Kenney has played over 1400 minutes across the season, scoring six goals and bagging one assist, in a campaign where she has been a key player, either starting or coming off the bench.
There have been some standout moments for Kenney, including the recent goal to get the Addicks back in the game against Southampton, and her incredible equalising header against Ipswich in February.
The winner will be announced at the WSL Football Awards ceremony on Monday, May 18.
