Information for supporters attending Millwall fixture

'

Charlton Athletic have been in communication with the Metropolitan Police and Millwall about the post-match arrangements ahead of Saturday’s fixture at The Den (KO 12.30pm GMT).

Please see below the latest update from the Metropolitan Police:

"Due to the fixture being sold out, delays are expected for away fans exiting onto Bolina Road post-match. Should there be any delays, away supporters will still be able to access the facilities in the away area, including bars and toilets.

“Away supporters heading towards South Bermondsey train station post-match can exit via the away walkway, however, a queuing system is likely to be in place due to platform capacity restrictions."

Speaking during Wednesday's online fan meeting with directors, Chief Financial and Operations Officer Ed Warrick added: "Particularly for fixtures like Saturday’s, we work very closely with our opposition and with the authorities.

"The advice that we've had from the police and Millwall is that, while there are no plans to keep fans behind at the game, it's likely that because it's a sold-out fixture, there may be some delays when exiting the stadium and that there will be a queuing system at South Bermondsey station.

"In terms of there being a holdback, that's something that they are not planning on doing. We should always be aware though that football matches are a live operation involving many thousands of people. Some things may change during the match, and if that's the case, we'll work with the other club to make sure that that's communicated as best as possible."

Additional information:

  • Away tickets can be collected from the North Stand ticket office only
