Harvey Knibbs is thoroughly enjoying the challenge of Championship football.
The 26-year-old joined the Addicks on a four-year deal in the summer and has featured in all 13 league fixtures under Nathan Jones so far.
"I've settled in really well and I'm really enjoying living in the area," Knibbs said. "The lads have made it easy so I'm really enjoying it. With the promotion last year, I knew it was going to be a tight-knit bunch and that's exactly what it is."
The midfielder missed pre-season through injury, but hit the ground running in his first game, scoring a late winner against Watford on the opening day of the season.
"I feel like if you ask all footballers, missing a pre-season is less than ideal," he explained. I was happy just to make the squad for the first game really, so for it to go the way it did was fantastic!
"I've had to bide my time and use the cup games to get my fitness and I'm raring to go and help where I can. I've really enjoyed the step up to the Championship - itβs higher quality, more tempo and we've adapted really well. We feel really comfortable at this level."
Knibbs recently joined forces with five other teammates of Jamaican heritage to donate to Hurricane Melissa Relief and raise awareness for the cause, following the devastating impact the hurricane has had on the country.
"I've got family out there and I managed to touch base with them and they're safe," said Knibbs. "Obviously there's a lot of impacted areas so where we can help we wanted to. We've got such a big Jamaican family here, so we found it really important and I'm just grateful that my family are safe."
