Addicks legends Kevin Lisbie and Steve Brown highlighted the part the club’s supporters have played in Charlton’s incredible home form under Nathan Jones.
Attendances at The Valley are at a 17-year high and since the arrival of Jones the Addicks have lost just three of 37 home league games.
The club’s current highest attendance this season is 23,293, and with sales already passing the 20,000 mark, the club are aiming to set a new season-high crowd on Saturday for the visit of Southampton (KO 12.30pm GMT).
Speaking on CharltonTV, Kevin Lisbie said: "There seems to be a togetherness now with the players, fans and the manager. The atmosphere that's created in the home games seems to spur the players on. The players seem to be reacting to the fans. It can be a difficult place to play if you aren’t doing well but if you are and they get behind you, it coincides with us getting those good results."
CharltonTV’s November episode premiered on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm and as well as looking at the team’s recent form, the show also includes an interview with Sonny Carey and a look back at some classic clashes with the Saints.
"I think we’ve been incredibly difficult to beat," Brown explained when asked about the Addicks’ home form. "There have been games where maybe we haven’t performed as well as Nathan wants us to but because we are so difficult to beat, it is just that one moment. Instead of having to score two, three or four, we are compact and we just keep other teams out.
"There has been a feeling of togetherness [at The Valley]. Over the last 18 months the stands have filled out and we’ve got the promotion and the fans are absolutely 100% together with this team.
"Our record at The Valley in recent times is phenomenal and the fans will always play into why we can win a game, like West Brom, in the 95th minute because there still is that atmosphere here in the ground."
