TEAM NEWS

Dean Holden confirmed in Thursday's press conference that Lucas Ness (knee) is set to see a specialist next week, while Corey Blackett-Taylor (hamstring) had a scan on Thursday morning after being forced off at Morecambe.

The gaffer expects Terell Thomas (calf) to be available following a bout of cramp in midweek, though Todd Kane (hamstring) and Chuks Aneke (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Conor McGrandles is ineligible for Saturday's clash, while Steve Seddon (illness) and Liam O'Neil (illness) will both be assessed by the hosts.

Zeno Rossi (foot), Adam May (knee), George Thomas (ankle) and Fejiri Okenabirhie (hamstring) are all long-term absentees.

THE OPPOSITION

The U's currently sit 23rd in the Sky Bet League One table, five points adrift of safety and having played one more game than 20th-placed Accrington Stanley.

Mark Bonner's side fell to a 1-0 reverse at MK Dons last weekend, extending their winless run to five games.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Cambridge have clashed on 21 previous occasions with the Addicks winning seven wins, the U’s seven and the remaining seven meetings resulting in draws.

The reverse fixture saw the spoils shared at The Valley back in August, when Scott Fraser’s first-half opener was cancelled out by Harvey Knibbs' close-range finish on the hour-mark.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Marc Edwards will be the man in the middle on Saturday afternoon. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in April 2022 - a 3-2 defeat home to Morecambe.

Edwards will be assisted by Marc Wilson and David Harrison, while Leigh Crowhurst is the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be donning their white away kit in Cambridgeshire.
