MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v Birmingham City

'

The Addicks are back in action at The Valley on Saturday when they host Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship (KO 3pm GMT).

Nathan Jones’ side will be looking to get back on the winning trail following a narrow 1-0 defeat to sixth-placed Wrexham in SE7 last time out.

TEAM NEWS

Asked for an update on the team news front, Jones said: "Reece [Burke] has had a really frustrating one. It's an injury that he's picked up that he's never had before.

"We knew playing Collins [Sichenje] regularly off the back of half a pre-season in Serbia and then coming into the intensity of the Championship, would be tough and then it has a knock-on effect. Amari’i [Bell] also was struggling on Saturday.

"[Luke] Berry hasn’t played many minutes, but has trained fully and been in excellent form. It's frustrating losing a few players."

The gaffer confirmed that Thomas Kaminski (hamstring) is the closest to returning from injury. Josh Edwards (ankle) and Harvey Knibbs (ankle) are both long-term absentees for the Addicks, while Matty Godden (hamstring) is also unavailable.

Jhon Solis is available again for the visitors after serving a one-match suspension, but Lee Buchanan, Alex Cochrane and Kyogo Furuhashi remain sidelined.

THE OPPOSITION

Birmingham City currently sit 12th in the Sky Bet Championship table, seven points outside of the play-off places.
