Following a huge victory at Birmingham last week, Charlton are back at The Valley where they will take on Southampton on Sunday, November 9th.
Charlton Athletic
Charlton remain undefeated in the WSL 2, as they sit 4 points clear at the top of the table. Katie Bradley scored the only goal of the game against second-placed Birmingham. In the Subway Women’s League Cup, they were recently awarded a 3-0 win after opponents Portsmouth were unable to fulfil the fixture.
Southampton
Southampton are in the hunt for promotion, sitting in 5th position behind Bristol City and Nottingham Forest. They suffered a setback last week, however, losing 2-3 at home to Forest. The Saints will be hoping to make things tricky for Karen Hills’ side when they meet on Sunday.
Head-to-head
The two sides have played each other a total of six times, with Charlton winning five of those meetings, and Southampton winning just one. That sole victory came at The Valley in November last season, with Tara Bourne scoring a late winner for The Saints. Charlton will want to avoid history repeating itself this time around.
