TEAM NEWS
Nathan Jones confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the illness which had impacted the squad before the international break has now fully cleared.
The gaffer also provided an injury update on the squad. He said: "Everyone is a lot closer [to fitness] obviously being two weeks down the line, whether they're ready to start or impact or not, we'll see."
The visitors will be without Shea Charles (hamstring) and Ross Stewart (hamstring), though Elias Jelert (quad), Cameron Bragg (hamstring), Sam Edozie (ankle) and Cameron Archer (ankle) could all return.
THE OPPOSITION
The Saints currently sit 17th in the Sky Bet Championship table on a tally of 18 points after 15 games.
Interim boss Tonda Eckert has claimed back-to-back victories over QPR and Sheffield Wednesday since taking the reins following the dismissal of Will Still.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The two sides have gone toe-to-toe on 63 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning 18, the Saints winning 28, and the remaining 17 encounters ending in draws.
Southampton ran out 2-0 victors when the teams last met in April 2011, with Guly Do Prado and Lee Barnard both netting on the south coast.

Martin will be assisted by Mark Dwyer and Matthew Smith, while Benjamin Speedie has been named as the Fourth Official.
