MATCH PREVIEW: Charlton vs Newcastle United

Match Preview - Newcastle

It’s the final home game of the 2024/25 season, and the Toon Army are making the long journey down to The Valley for the Addicks’ penultimate game of the campaign.

Charlton
After a very busy March, Charlton are playing their only game of April today, having remained undefeated since November 2024. The Addicks are aiming to extend this run into their final two matches of the season.

In March, Charlton kept Birmingham, London City Lionesses and Bristol City to draws, keeping themselves firmly in the title race. They also beat Sunderland in a seven-goal thriller and claimed three points against Blackburn.

Newcastle United
Catching up on a postponed game, Newcastle played last Sunday and put six goals past Blackburn. March saw a mixed set of results for the northern side, who lost to Durham and London City but secured wins over Sunderland and Bristol City. Newcastle currently sit four points behind Charlton in sixth place.

Head-to-Head
The two sides’ first meeting this season was action-packed. The Addicks were 3-1 down heading into the 90th minute but pulled off a dramatic comeback, scoring twice in extra time after a Newcastle player was sent off, to level the game at 3-3.
