TEAM NEWS

Deji Elerewe (suspended), Chuks Aneke (calf) and Miles Leaburn (ankle) remain unavailable, while Mandela Egbo (quad), Richard Chin (groin), Scott Fraser (calf) and Tyreece Campbell (ankle) are still being assessed.

Dean Holden revealed Nathan Asiimwe and Lloyd Jones will also be monitored after the duo missed Tuesday's cup clash at Newport County.

The hosts could be without skipper Ephron Mason-Clark (hamstring), who has been described by Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson as ‘touch and go’ after being forced off last weekend.

THE OPPOSITION

Ferguson’s side kicked off the 2023/24 campaign with a 1-0 victory at newly-relegated Reading last Saturday thanks to Mason-Clark’s header.

Peterborough progressed to the second round of the Carabao Cup in midweek, beating League Two side Swindon Town 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Peterborough have squared off on 27 previous occasions with the Addicks winning nine, Posh 10 and the remaining eight fixtures resulting in draws.

The last meeting between the two sides came at the Weston Homes Stadium in February 2023 and produced a goalless draw.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Swabey will be assisted by Scott Williams and Wayne Grunnill, while Aaron Farmer is the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be sporting their black away kit in Cambridgeshire.
