The hosts will check on the fitness of Tom Holmes (back), who has missed their last two outings at Oxford United and Stevenage.

THE OPPOSITION

The Royals sit 20th in the Sky Bet League One table ahead of Saturday's meeting, level on points with the Addicks who have a superior goal difference.

Rubén Sellés’ side climbed out of the relegation zone with a 1-0 triumph over play-off hopefuls Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium in midweek, extending their unbeaten run to four matches.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The last meeting between the two sides came in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy in December 2023, when Reading progressed to the round of 16 following a penalty shootout victory.

Charlton won the reverse league fixture 4-0 in October 2023 courtesy of second-half strikes from Chuks Aneke, Tyreece Campbell, Alfie May and Leaburn.
