Charlton are back in action on Saturday, travelling to the Croud Meadow to face Shrewsbury Town (KO 3pm BST).

Michael Appleton’s men head to Shropshire on the back of a 3-1 victory against Wycombe Wanderers at The Valley last weekend thanks to goals from Miles Leaburn, Slobodan Tedić and Corey Blackett-Taylor.

TEAM NEWS

Appleton confirmed Terry Taylor (concussion) is set to be available for selection this weekend, while Nathan Asiimwe (quad), Tayo Edun (hamstring), Conor McGrandles (knee), Panutche Camará (foot) and Scott Fraser (calf) will all be assessed.

Carl Winchester, who was forced off in the Shrews' last game, has trained all week, though George Nurse (knee), Jordan Shipley, (knee) and Elliot Thorpe (back) remain sidelined.

THE OPPOSITION

Shrewsbury currently sit 17th in the Sky Bet League One table and come into Saturday's contest having lost four of their last five league outings.

Matt Taylor’s side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Leyton Orient last time out, with Ruel Sotiriou's 20th-minute effort proving the difference at Brisbane Road.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Shrewsbury have faced off on 31 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 11, Salop 11 and the remaining nine clashes resulting in draws.

The last meeting between the two sides came in April 2023, when Charlton claimed an emphatic 6-0 triumph at The Valley. Leaburn bagged a brace, with Fraser, Albie Morgan, Jes Rak-Sakyi and Macauley Bonne also on the scoresheet that day.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Ed Duckworth is the man in the middle for this weekend’s clash, overseeing his first fixture involving Charlton.

Duckworth will be assisted by Abbas Khan and Alistair Nelson, while Matt Corlett is the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be donning their black away kit in Shropshire.
