The Valley will undergo further enhancements this summer as part of the Board’s ongoing commitment to improving the club’s historic stadium.
Two major elements of the upgrade programme will be the installation of new and improved dugouts, along with changes to seating areas in the West Stand.
Charlton’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer Ed Warrick said: "The Valley is a wonderful stadium, and it hadn’t received the investment it deserved until recent seasons.
"Over the past few summers, with the backing of the club’s ownership, we’ve been able to make significant improvements - a new pitch, safe standing areas, refreshed club offices and tunnel areas, new floodlight upgrades, new maintenance and groundskeeping equipment, perimeter advertising boards, the new big screen and the installation of handrails in the Alan Curbishley Stand. Altogether, this represents over three million pounds worth of investment in The Valley, and of course alongside this we extended our lease up until June 2040. We’ve been really pleased with the positive feedback from supporters, and our rolling refurbishment programme continues this summer.
"Like the floodlights installed this season, we now need to install new dugouts to meet EFL regulations. We're also looking to update our hospitality offering, which includes organising the seating areas more appropriately in the West Stand, and these two projects will form a key part of our summer work. We're also planning some further updates, which we'll update supporters on when we have more detail.
"Due to the nature of these developments, we will need to move a small number of current season-ticket holders in the West Stand. We’ve contacted those supporters directly and will work closely with them to relocate them to seats that best suit their needs.
"These upgrades once again reflect our commitment to driving elite standards at the club and enhancing the matchday experience for our supporters."
