Bowyer on match-winner Lyle Taylor, Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher and upcoming transfers

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer was full of praise for his side's team spirit following the Addicks 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers.

An interview with Lee Bowyer will be on Valley Pass later this evening. Valley Pass costs just £6.50 per month or £60 for the year and you can sign-up here.

Below are some of the talking points from his post-game interview with Sky Sports.

On Lyle Taylor, who scored the winning goal...

"He scores goals, that is what he does but not only that, there’s his work rate. You saw him tracking back and just competing for every ball around him. He’s a big part of us. He gives everything and the kid can score goals. He got a little tap in today but that’s a reward for his hard work I think."

On Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher, who joined the club on Friday...

"I thought he did really well. He’s only a young kid, we put him on in the last 15 or so minutes and he never gave the ball away. He nearly scored, they got a little deflection on it which just took it wide. He should be an exciting project for us. I think Chelsea must have looked at what we did with other loan midfielders last year (Krystian Bielik and Josh Cullen) and thought ‘can you do the same with our midfielder?’ I’m sure that we will, he’s a good player, I’m looking forward to working with him."

On transfer activity...

"I’ll obviously be on the phone for the next four and a half hours on the drive back speaking to (Head of Recruitment) Steve Gallen and then we’ll have to just see what is around the corner. We’ve still got to bring in four or five more players, we’re going to get stronger as well. We’re working constantly and hopefully we’ll get them through the door."
