Thomas Sandgaard to attend Thursday's Fans' Forum

Charlton Owner Thomas Sandgaard is set to attend Thursday’s Fans’ Forum at The Valley.

The revamped Fans’ Forum, chaired by Fan Adviser, Lucy Bishop, met for the first time earlier this year and gives supporters the opportunity to discuss issues and ask questions on the topics that most affect them and the fans they represent.

Sandgaard said: “Since before I took over the club, communicating with supporters has been a high priority. We had our first of the revamped Fans’ Forum, three months ago, and the supporters at the meeting highlighted a variety of areas where we could improve things and also a willingness from fans to work with the club to help us grow.

“Since then, we’ve made many changes, some small and some large, including the excellent Fill The Valley campaign, for the game against Plymouth. I’d like to thank the supporters who give up their time for the Fans’ Forum, for getting involved and I’d also like to encourage supporters to get in touch with the fan representatives should they want to highlight anything.”

Lucy Bishop, said: "Getting the Fans' Forum back up and running was one of my priorities and I hope it's clear to see why - after having just one meeting each with domestic and international fans, we've seen changes and improvements in and around the club as a direct result of the supporters' being able to have their say.

"It was great to see The Valley full again last month against Plymouth, thanks largely to the suggestions that fans put forward about how we could get more people through the turnstiles. I'm pleased to say that I've also been approached by quite a few supporters who have noticed an improvement in the catering.

"A positive matchday experience means different things to different people, so it's important that you contact your fan representative with thoughts in order to get your voice heard and help our great club go from strength to strength."

Since the last Fans’ Forum, changes from feedback raised have included:

-     Improved catering service on a matchday – including selling real ale in the Fans’ Bar, more food variety and an improvement in service

-     Installation of new seat numbers

-     Hand dryer testing and replacement around the stadium

-     Teamsheets for Papa John’s games made available at the stadium and online

-     Simplified Valley Express and Valley Away options

-     Simplified ticket office opening hours

-     Fill The Valley
