Charlton Athletic are pleased to confirm the appointments of Gavin Carter, Paul Elliott CBE MBE and Andy Scott to the club’s Board of Directors.

The club was taken over by Global Football Partners (GFP) in July, with the structure of the board set out in the announcement of the takeover.

At that stage James Rodwell was confirmed as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board, with Group Finance Director Ed Warrick also confirmed as a member of the Board.

Non-Executive Directors Gavin Carter and Paul Elliott and Technical Director Andy Scott have now all had their Board appointments confirmed following approval from the EFL.

Carter, who has had a successful career driving businesses forward, is a lifelong Charlton fan and an investor in GFP.

Former footballer Elliott began his successful playing career at Charlton in the early 1980s. Since retiring, he has been a leading figure in the fight against discrimination in football and has received an MBE and CBE for his work in football. Elliott has become the Board’s lead on mental health and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

Meanwhile, Scott was appointed as the club’s Technical Director in July to oversee the club’s footballing departments having held senior roles at Premier League and Championship clubs.

Rodwell said: “We are delighted to be able to confirm the appointments of Gavin, Paul and Andy to the Charlton Board of Directors.

“The new Board has a diverse range of experience across football and business which will be key in setting the direction and vision for the club. It will be the task of the Senior Management Team to take that direction and vision and lead Charlton forward with the aim of matching GFP’s ambition for Charlton to become a club noted for its professionalism, integrity and intense focus on success.”
