Charlton players visit Upbeats tournament

On Saturday 16 November, Charlton Athletic's Lyle Taylor and Darren Pratley visited the Charlton Upbeats during the Down's Syndrome Active tournament, hosted at Charlton's Sparrows Lane training ground in New Eltham by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT).

Lyle and Darren spent time watching the matches and talking to the Upbeats families and CACT staff.

Speaking on the day, Darren Pratley said:

"We like coming down, especially as we haven't got a game today. We like to mix with everyone in Charlton.

"We enjoy coming here, and we came to see the Upbeats play for a change!"

Members of the Upbeats interviewed both players after taking on DS teams from across the country o the pitch.

The Upbeats programme is entirely run on voluntary donations. In April, the annual Upbeats Walk raised over £20,000 for the programme.

Thanks to the money raised from the walk, the Upbeats enjoyed their first ever residential trip away from their parents in September.

The group went on a trip to Centre Parcs for just under a week, taking part in a number of activities including swimming and badminton.
