Charlton kick off their 2023/24 EFL Trophy campaign at Crawley Town on Tuesday night (KO 7.45pm BST).

TEAM NEWS

Internationals Ashley Maynard-Brewer (Australia), James Abankwah (Republic of Ireland U21s) and Terell Thomas (St Lucia) are unavailable having now linked up with their respective countries, while Panutche Camará (foot) and Chuks Aneke (calf) will be assessed.

Conor McGrandles (knee) is set to miss the game with an injury sustained in training.

Meanwhile, Scott Fraser (calf) continues to make good progress in his recovery after picking up an issue in Charlton's opening-day win against Leyton Orient. 

Addicks midfielder Aaron Henry, who is on loan at Crawley, is ineligible for Tuesday's tie and the hosts are also expected to be without defensive duo Dion Conroy (calf) and Kellan Gordon (hamstring).

THE OPPOSITION

Scott Lindsey's side currently sit 16th in League Two having taken eight points from their opening six games.

Crawley came from behind to claim a point in a 3-3 draw with Stockport County at Edgeley Park last time out.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Crawley have clashed on three previous occasions with the Addicks winning twice and the Red Devils once.

The last meeting between the two sides came in this same competition in August 2021, with Charlton running out 6-1 victors at The Valley.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Aji Ajibola will control proceedings on Tuesday night, overseeing his first fixture involving Charlton.

Ajibola will be assisted by Sam Ogles and Paul Kelly, while Justin Amey is the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be wearing their white third kit for the first time this season in West Sussex.
