Kaheim Dixon was on the scoresheet as he helped Jamaica to a 2-0 victory over India in the Unity Cup at The Valley on Wednesday evening.
The Addicks forward played the full 90 and was a bright spark throughout as the Reggae Boyz secured a place in Saturday’s Grand Final thanks to Courtney Clarke’s fifth minute strike and Dixon’s finish 11 minutes from time.
The 21-year-old saw an early effort saved by the Indian keeper at his near post early on, before being denied again from a similar position later in the first half.
Dixon kept knocking on the door and came close again when he fired wide on the hour mark, but he finally etched his name on the scoresheet in the 79th minute, showing good feet to get into the box, before finding the bottom left-hand corner with a confident finish.
Jamaica will now play Nigeria in the Grand Final in SE7 on Saturday (7.30pm).
India, meanwhile will take on Zimbabwe, who were defeated 2-0 by Nigeria on Tuesday evening, in the third-place play-off at The Valley prior to the Grand Final (2.30pm).
