Fevrier speaks following Preston defeat

Jayden Fevrier felt like there was an opportunity missed for the Addicks in their defeat to Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.

“It was disappointing, there was opportunity to create some breathing space between us and the other teams around us and it was an opportunity we missed," he explained.

“Football is a game of momentum, and goals change games. For large parts of it, they [Preston] had the momentum.”

“We needed more quality, calmness, and composure. Goals are difficult to score, it is the hardest part of football, so it was a culmination of things really.”

“It all looks good in training, but ultimately Monday to Friday means nothing, we need to put it into play on the Saturday.”

Fevrier was named in the Addicks' starting line-up for the first team this season.

“I am grateful to the gaffer to have made my start and that he trusted me, I thought I did well but ultimately it didn’t matter as we didn’t get the result.”

“On the long throw and the set piece, we just weren’t set, and on the second goal we got countered on and we are getting countered on too many times. It is something we need to look at.”

“We need to focus the next game, and get three points. Sheffield Wednesday isn’t going to be easy we know it is going to be tough, so we need to go there and get three points. It is about putting this behind us and taking the lessons and all focus is on Hillsborough.”

The Addicks return to action at The Valley on Wednesday April 22nd, as they host Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship. Get your tickets now!
