Nathan Jones is looking to make it back-to-back Valley victories on Tuesday night when his side take on Portsmouth (KO 7.45pm GMT).
The Addicks claimed an important 1-0 win at home to Stoke City last week, thanks to Tyreece Campbell's strike.
"We always love playing at The Valley in front of our own fans and generally our form has been very good there," Jones said.
"The supporters have been vital, ever since I came in. The fans play their part so much, The Valley is a wonderful place to be when it is rocking. We played Stoke in a fantastic, well deserved win and we are looking to back that up.
"Portsmouth are a very well-coached team. John [Mousinho] has done a fantastic job since he has gone in there, and they have some very talented players.
"We know we're in for a tough test. Portsmouth have added real quality in the middle of the park and they have more of a threat up top."
The gaffer provided an update on the fitness of Miles Leaburn, who has missed the Addicks' last two fixtures with a shoulder injury sustained during the 2-0 triumph at Leicester City.
"Miles has trained ahead of the last two games. We've just got a decision with him, so we'll see.
"We're in a considerably better place with injuries than we were four to six weeks ago. The options we have to start the games and to bring on is considerably better," the gaffer added.
The Addicks have submitted a 24-man squad to the EFL following the closure of the winter transfer window, leaving one space free.
"Hopefully we can get one signing over the line that finalises the squad and then gives us that strength to go into the last 15 games of the season," Jones explained.
"We always want to improve the squad and we needed certain things in January. We have a fantastic board and ownership group that back us when we need it and providing there's justification we feel certain things are right."
Tuesday's clash with Portsmouth is a rescheduled date after the original fixture was halted in the 12th minute after Charlton Athletic fan Norman 'Heaphones Norm' Barker fell ill in his seat in the Covered End Lower. The match was subsequently abandoned and Norman sadly passed away later that day.
"There has been a magnificent outpouring of love, and we're very appreciative of all of that. Both clubs have shown wonderful class and camaraderie that football brings," Jones said.
