Olaofe: 'I'm back home and I've been enjoying it!'

Tanto Olaofe is enjoying being back amongst familiar surroundings in south-east London.

The striker, who was born in Lewisham and raised in Dartford, joined the Addicks in the summer following an impressive two-year spell at Stockport County.

"I'm back home and I've been enjoying it," said the 25-year-old. "It's quite an easy group to fit in to - there's no big characters and everyone's easy-going. It makes it easier when you've got good players and good staff.

"When I had the meeting with [Nathan Jones], he sat me down and we went through a presentation. He said what his goals were for the next three, four years and my goals aligned with that. The club's going on an upwards trajectory and it's something that I want to follow as well.

"I've got so many friends who either know someone who supports Charlton or they work with Charlton supporters, and I've got friends that live nearby. It's always great to have family and friends coming to the games - I probably have about 10 people come and watch me every week so it's good."

Olaofe opened his Addicks account with a last-gasp winner against the other Sheffield side last month.

"It would be great [to score against the other Sheffield side on Saturday]," he smiled. "It was an amazing feeling in front of the travelling fans on a rainy day, and it was a last-minute winner so you can't get much better feelings like that!"

More than 500 students from local schools and community groups will take part in the club's annual Red, White and Black Day parade, a flagship celebration of unity and togetherness, ahead of Saturday's fixture at The Valley.

"It's south-east London and I feel like inclusion and diversity is key, especially from where I've grown up," said Olaofe. "I've grown up around all different backgrounds and cultures - Caribbean, African, Caucasian - and it's just key.

"It's really important just to make everyone feel included. You probably look around the 20,000-plus people [at The Valley] and there's so many people from different backgrounds, different races and different countries that come and support us. We're all one unity, so it's a beautiful thing."
