Charlton’s U18s fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.
Jason Pearce’s side went 1-0 up on 28 minutes, though Kacper Podgorny. Podgorny played a lovely one-two with Kayode Peterkin, before slotting the ball beyond Aston Wilson in goal to give Charlton the lead.
Barnsley levelled the scoring on 37 minutes, as they were awarded a penalty. Shia-Lee Burnham was adjudged to have fouled Robson Woodcock in the box, and Noah Town converted the spot kick to draw the two teams level.
The sides were level at the break.
Robson Woodcock put the hosts ahead on 52 minutes with an excellent strike from the edge of the area. The ball fell to him after a mix-up in midfield from Charlton, and his first time effort went beyond Logan Williams in goal.
