Charlton’s U21s fell to defeat to Brentford U21s in West London on Tuesday evening. A late turnaround from the hosts saw them seal all three points.
Charlton opened the scoring on 16 minutes, after a left-footed shot from Ibrahim Fullah went beyond Julian Eyestone and into the back of the net.
At half-time, Chris Lock’s side were in front.
Ethan Laidlaw drew the hosts level on 79 minutes. Joseph Henry-Wheeler was adjudged to have been fouled in the box and the referee awarded a penalty. Laidlaw stepped up and converted from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.
The hosts turned the game around in stoppage time, as Michael Boni netted from close range after some smart work from Ethan Laidlaw.
Despite a spirited first-half performance, the young Addicks were defeated 2-1 in West London.
Charlton’s U21s are back in action on Tuesday, as they host Swansea City’s U21s at Sparrows Lane (KO 1.30pm GMT).
