Bowyer on Wiredu, Aneke and his team's 4-0 win at Dagenham

Charlton boss Lee Bowyer said his team showed “100% improvement” in this evening’s win at Dagenham & Redbridge.

He was “disappointed” by last night’s 2-1 loss at Ebbsfleet United but praised his side for bouncing back with a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Bowyer’s full interview will be available on Valley Pass this evening. Valley Pass costs just £6.50 per month or £60 for the year and you can sign-up here.

Below are some of the topics covered.

On the win…

“We were much better tonight, we passed better, we closed down properly, we were back to where we have always been. It was a good night, no injuries, very pleasing.

“The difference from last night to tonight was 100% improvement. They know our standards, the odd time they are going to come off of it and I get that, to not move the ball properly that’s where we were last night. That’s why we play these games because it gets you ready for Blackburn, which is the most important thing. For me to get back to how we do things was perfect.”

On Brandon Wiredu who scored his third goal in as many games…

“He’s doing himself no harm. Not just for us, there are obviously clubs coming to watch us and he’s doing really well. He’s playing in a position he’s not really played before. He’s very good going forward, he needs to improve a little bit defensively. He’s doing really well.”

On other impressive performances…

“I thought Albie (Morgan) was very good tonight. Chuks (Aneke) and Lyle (Taylor) too. We pushed Chuks a little further forward tonight alongside Lyle, dropping into the 10 area and I thought they linked up really well. Lyle’s movement was very good and Albie’s vision. I thought Ben Dempsey did very well, he was unlucky not to get in after he scored as well. It was good awareness for Chuks to pick him out for his goal. Overall I think it was a lot, lot better.”
