Lloyd Jones felt the Addicks could have taken more from Saturday afternoon’s contest, as they suffered a narrow defeat to Wrexham at The Valley.
"I thought the performance was there, obviously I don't like losing, no one likes losing. But I think we created enough chances to win the game comfortably. We didn't put those away, so we need to re-group and go again Saturday," Jones told CharltonTV.
"It was a great finish, [the Wrexham goal] but I didn't think it was a chance really. He did really well to put it in the corner but like I said, we had a number of chances to win the game," he added.
Reece Burke was forced off the field through injury after just 13 minutes, and was replaced by Collins Sichenje.
"I am gutted for [Reece] Burke, he is a great lad, but then Collins [Sichenje] came on and it showed the depth of the squad we have, and he did brilliant, so hats off to him."
"It is disappointing today, we did enough to win the game. That is why they are up there [Wrexham] they take their chances, and that was the difference between both boxes today. If we can take that performance and keep going for the remainder for the season, I am sure that we will pick up a lot of points on the way."
The defender put in an excellent shift against Wrexham striker Kieffer Moore. "He is a big lad to be fair, he has scored a lot of goals this year. He is a tough opponent and I enjoyed our battles," he said.
The Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday, as they host Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship. "I think we have played four games in 10 days and two of them were away, so it is good to re-group, we have a full week of training now coming up ahead of Saturday."
"I love it here, it feels like my home. I love the staff, I love my team mates, I love the fans, I love every minute of it."
The Addicks return to The Valley on Saturday, February 28th, for the visit of Birmingham City. Don't miss out, get your tickets now!
