Charlton legend Steve Brown reserved special praise for Lloyd Jones during the latest CharltonTV show.
The centre-back, who has started all 15 Sky Bet Championship fixtures so far for the Addicks, has made the most clearances (146) and the most interceptions (27) in the second tier in 2025/26, and also ranks third for aerial duels won (105).
"I think Lloyd's been outstanding," explained Brown. "He's really stepped up to the plate over the last 18 months, playing in a back three. He's a good central defender and a good leader."
Brown feels there was a defining moment last term when he realised Jones had taken his game to another level.
"When we faced Wycombe at the back end of last season and in the play-offs, up against Richard Kone he really did step up to the plate and win that battle. Kone is a good player who has gone on to prove that he is a Championship-level striker.
"Lloyd's had a very consistent last 18 months where he's improved across that time and fully deserves all the accolades and the praise he gets."
