Charlton’s U21s fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Cardiff City U21s on Tuesday afternoon in the Professional Development League South.

Cardiff City opened the scoring on 8 minutes through Luke Pearce.

Apart from the visitors’ goal, there wasn’t much action in the half for either side.

The young Addicks trailed 1-0 at half-time.

Eight minutes into the second-half, Cardiff doubled their advantage, with a well-worked goal that was fired beyond George Hardy.

Just after the hour mark, Cardiff had a third goal through Jake Davies, who did well to find the bottom corner of the net.

Chris Lock’s side are next in action on Tuesday evening, as they take on Preston North End’s U21s in the Premier League Cup (KO 7pm GMT) at Princes Park.
