Izabella - Wildcats

-

After building her confidence and developing her game at CACT’s girls-only Wildcats sessions, Izabella progressed to joining a local grassroots girls’ football team.

Izabella first attended CACT’s Wildcats sessions to start playing football in a fun and supportive environment. Over time, the sessions helped her grow in confidence both on and off the pitch, while developing her love for the game.

Through regular participation in sessions under the guidance of CACT’s qualified coaches, Izabella developed the ability and confidence to take the next step and joined a local girls’ grassroots team, where she now plays and trains regularly as a goalkeeper.

CACT’s Wildcats sessions focus on developing the fundamental skills needed in football and creating a safe and fun environment where players can learn something new and make new friends, laying the foundations for girls like Izabella to progress into grassroots clubs if they wish to do so.

Izabella said: “The best thing about Wildcats was that it didn't matter how good you were, everyone got to play and have a good time. It made me love football so much that I wanted to join a club. I’m a goalkeeper now, and I’m so glad I started at Wildcats!”

Her dad, Byron, added: “We loved that CACT Wildcats was about fun rather than pressure. We weren't looking for an intense academy; we wanted a place where Izabella felt supported while she learned how to play football. CACT Wildcats delivered exactly that. The coaches were great at making sure every girl felt included, focusing on their personal progression rather than just their ability. Seeing her move on to grassroots football as a goalkeeper has been brilliant, and it all started with that positive foundation.”
